A Littleton Original, LLC — The Mission to Revolutionize the Art Market

The art industry is currently facing a pressing issue of underrepresentation and limited diversity. It is evident from studies that major museums and popular retailers like Target and Walmart are not actively promoting diversity and inclusion in their artwork. This lack of representation extends to gender as well, with male artists being given more prominence. This glaring gap in diversity and inclusivity presents a unique opportunity for A Littleton Original, LLC, to revolutionize the art market. Our mission is to showcase and sell artwork created by artists from diverse backgrounds, empowering them and meeting the growing demand for diverse artwork from a wide range of customers. We firmly believe that every artist, regardless of their background, deserves a platform to express their creativity and share their unique perspectives. By providing a space for these artists to shine, we aim to bridge the gap in representation and offer a refreshing alternative to the current art market. In addition to the lack of diversity in the art industry, there is also a concerning absence of arts education in public schools. This means that urban children are being deprived of a creative outlet and valuable resources to practice and explore their artistic talents. Furthermore, many adults are hesitant to embrace new experiences, such as learning to paint, due to a lack of accessible and convenient art classes. At A Littleton Original, LLC, we recognize the importance of nurturing creativity at all ages. We are committed to not only providing a platform for artists from diverse backgrounds but also offering art education programs that cater to both children and adults. By bringing art classes to convenient locations and creating a welcoming environment, we aim to inspire individuals to explore their artistic passions and unlock their creative potential. This is not a business plan. This is the artist's vision of the world he lives in. He was told he looked like a robber when he walked into a store. He was told he wasn't black enough, too dark, that he sounded white. People grabbed their purses and locked their dogs when they saw him. And now he looks at the art industry — the museums, the retailers, the schools — and sees the same thing. The same systematic exclusion. The same praise for the lighter ones and the same silence about the darker ones. The same children being deprived of a creative outlet. The same adults being hesitant to embrace new experiences. And his answer is the same as it always has been: he builds the place. He builds the gallery where every artist, regardless of their background, deserves a platform to express their creativity and share their unique perspectives. He builds the art classes where children and adults can explore their artistic passions. He bridges the gap in representation. He offers a refreshing alternative to the current art market. Because giving is its own reward. Because love can heal all things. Because if you are taught by a great family, it's even better.
