Alona watched the Good Samaritan help push the car out of the street. She had seen enough. She began casting the spell when the alarm clock partially awoke her. She darted out of her bed, realizing she ignited the spark, and tried to warn her mother.
Nanita swatted the spark away like it was a bothersome nymph. The morning light caressed her mother's striking features as she calmly explained it was okay and that she had done the same thing on her birthday. Her Mocka baby, Alona, was relieved and happy to know that everything was alright.
She stares off in space with a painful headache and hears an imposing chipper voice say: 'Little Nanita, come take this gift from your Daddy the Papito, and I want to finally meet you, child.' The enchanted behind the voice attempts to read her mind, but Alona blocks the attempt and commands: 'Identify yourself.'
Gastonia, Nanita's faerie wings, casts a levitation spell and sped toward them. In the kitchen, Nanita resumes her spell-crafting recipes, saying: 'Now that I have your attention, I must warn you: strange changes will happen to you today. You will still have powers in this enchanted house but not out there — you are a talisman out there. You will be able to harness others powers while you transform. Be creative. You might experience visions, mind readings, but you lost all your powers until completing the Ligthousah ritual.'
She then turned to face her daughter, making sure to enunciate each word clearly as she leant on the counter. 'Let me tell you a secret. Trust No one,' she began.
Nanita is interrupted by the alarm and asks Alona to awaken the boys and take them to school.
This is the story of a child who was told she could change. And she was told she would lose her powers. And she was told to trust no one. And through all of it — through the strange changes, through the visions, through the mind readings — she kept her powers. Because the powers are not the wand. The powers are the willingness. The powers are the body you walk around in, and the body is the only thing that does not lie to you about who you are.
