The Artist Statement — Light Is Bad, Dark Is Good

As an artist, my work is focused on creating a sophisticated and intimate experience for the viewer through the use of Abstract Expressionism. My creations are designed to evoke a range of emotions, embracing color theory and using brushstrokes and compositions that reflect the present mood and feelings. What sets my artwork apart is the way in which I approach visual problems. As a representative of several sub-cultural biases, I respond to the world around me using carefully researched ideas expressed through unusual colors that are free from any prejudices based on skin color, gender, or sexuality. One of my primary objectives as an artist is to create pieces that stimulate the untrained viewer's eye with shockingly intense colors and complementary design ethics for dramatic interpretation. My work is designed to inhibit emotional response and expression, encouraging the viewer to think deeply and engage with the piece on a more cerebral level. The essence of my art lies in its ability to challenge the viewer's perceptions of good and bad, and their judgment on black and white. Through my work, I aim to create a world where light is bad, and dark is good, forcing the viewer to surrender, step forward, and immerse themselves in the artwork to truly understand it. The creative process for me begins with taking a step forward, breathing, and feeling the energy around me. It's about being present in the moment, letting the creation move through me, and trusting my instincts. This approach allows me to tap into my creativity and produce pieces that are not only visually striking but also carry a deeper meaning. Through my artwork, I aim to create an intimate experience for the viewer. I want them to feel as though they are part of the piece, that they are immersed in its energy and that it is speaking to them on a personal level. In my work, I try to break down barriers and challenge the viewer's preconceived notions of art. My use of unusual colors and design ethics challenges the traditional art world and encourages the viewer to think beyond the norm. By breaking free from established conventions, I am able to create a unique viewing experience that is both exciting and thought-provoking. My approach to art is deeply rooted in my own personal experiences and cultural biases. As someone who represents several subcultures, I am acutely aware of how culture and identity shape our perceptions of the world around us. By drawing on my own experiences and those of others, I am able to create pieces that reflect the complexity of the human experience and challenge the viewer to explore their own beliefs and biases. Ultimately, my artwork is designed to take the viewer on a journey of self-discovery. I want them to be transported to a world where they can explore their emotions, challenge their beliefs, and experience the full range of the human experience. Whether they are feeling joy, sadness, anger, or confusion, I want my art to be a reflection of their innermost thoughts and feelings, providing a space for reflection and self-discovery.
